Robert R. Ruff, 85, of Bloomington, passed away on Friday morning at Garden Villa in Bloomington. Robert was born on October 10, 1926 in Quincy, Illinois and was the son of Ralph and Irma Ruff. He retired from Indiana University School of Optometry in 1991 where he was the lab manager. He was a devout Catholic and a member at St. Charles Borromeo Church. He enjoyed feeding and watching birds. Robert is survived by two daughters, Jeanne Christopher (Brian) of Livingston, Wisconsin, Tina Chance (Greg) of Bloomington and one son Robert Ruff (Chris) of Quincy, Illinois. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren; Robin Ruff (Chris), Michelle Bridgman (Steve), Jason Ruff, Tyler Powell and Tripp Chance, and two great grandchildren, Elliott Ruff and Cole Bridgman. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Ruff in 2007, one sister Kay Conley and his parents. Services will be 1pm Monday February 20, 2012 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third Street, Bloomington. Entombment will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens. Visitation will be on Monday from 11:00am until service time at The Funeral Chapel.
