Obituary for
Ann Maddock Gloye
Born April 25, 1933 in Linton, Indiana passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Hearthstone Health Campus. Ann is the daughter of Paul Maddock and Edith Hendren Maddock. She was raised in Bloomfield with her brother Bill until she graduated from Bloomfield High School and moved to Bloomington to attend Indiana University. This is where she met her future husband, Jack Gloye. They were married for 56 years until his passing in 2009.
After moving with her family several times, they decided to settle in Bloomington to raise their family. She had a teaching career that spanned 25 years at Roger’s Elementary School. Ann retired from teaching in 1996 to spend time traveling with Jack and her family.
She is survived by her four children, Edie Gloye, Margie Walls(Robin), Sally Toler(Mark) all of Bloomington, and John Gloye(Valerie) of St. Cloud Florida, and her sweet loving little dog “Buddy” also of Bloomington. She has ten grandchildren, Neil Michalares(Amy) of Fairfield, OH, Jackie Gloye of Bloomington, Annie Walls, Ben Walls, and Luke Walls(Jordann), of Bloomington: Keri Houchin(Dan) of Colorado Springs, CO, Kevin Toler of Los Angeles, CA, Katie Toler of Bloomington, and Stephanie & Ainsley Gloye both of St Cloud. Ann also had five Great-Grandchildren, Sean Schaffer, Ira & Ellie Michalares, and George and Elke Houchin.
Services for Ann will be 1:00 pm Friday August 26, 2016 at St. Marks United Methodist Church 100 N State Road 46 Bloomington. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Bloomfield.
A time of visitation with the family will be held on Friday from 11 am until time of the service at the church.
Memorial Contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
